Download limit enforcement will be next. Service seems to be fraying a bit also. If you don't know of any national ISPs meeting the above, at least one which is well established (read: reliable, and consistent transfer rates) and which has a Newcastle POP. By "fast" I mean transfer rates (NNTP) of at least 4 kB/s

However, with their merge, or whatever it is, with Tiscali, they seem to have lost their 'unlimited' status but rather tie you down to a 100meg download. Do you mean 100Gig because 100meg is nothing! i'm on unlimited and have a total Up-Down of about 8 Gig a month. If it 100gig i think that limit has always been

A Danish court ruled in favor of the IFPI, and ordered the Danish ISP “Tele2″ (DMT2-Tele2) to block all access to the popular BitTorrent tracker. If I have the option of grabbing a download from a distant single server or from a torrent with hundreds of users, I'm going to opt for the torrent. Why?

Zen Half Speed Update and need help!! Please.
You just put 20 G in the download and nothing in the upload, which will show up as: D/L: 20 U/LN/A And why wouldn't people interpret that as a 20G download limit, and no limit on upload? That is a possibility, although one thing must be kept in mind: You cannot sign up to an ISP directly from our site: You *have*

As I recall, you stated in another message that the limit was 1.5 GB per month. Yes at oz.net, that is their stated limit. I currently download 2 GB a month with just my dialup account (which only connects at a paltry 24K). Fortunately for us clueless ISP's, users with your download habits are in the tiniest of

Anyone know an ISP with a generous download limit?
I requested a downgrade to 2mb (cheaper and with a greater download limit) and it's been a nuisance ever since. It's fine while the connection is active but disconnects I get that error when my ISP is having problems. Works one minute, and not the next. Eventually it's fixed, for a few days, weeks or months.

ISP for Jetstart
I thought that, where an ISP charged for migration, it was usually <20 so this seems a bit steep to me... Anyway just another ISP for anyone who fits into the "heavy traffic club" parameters and cannot get their service from UK Online (the one with the 500 GB limit). They currently have a free churn as long as you are moving from an ISP that supports the new fast churn system. Since I almost never got over the download limit with the Telstra plan, and the cost of the minimal overflows was trivial, I couldnt justify paying any setup charge for the minimal overruns with Telstra.

They don't even record how much data you do download. So give them a call.

Need new newsgroup service - any suggestions?
You're too stupid to even be able to grasp that while the detail like say download limits and hours per month are certainly binding with a particular plan you sign up for, that does NOT mean that the ISP can have anything it likes in the T&C and pull the plug on your account if you breach one of the sillier 'rules'

I'm looking for a new ISP
The ISP has to get money to pay for the disk space and bandwidth. When you use disk space and bandwidth, you make the ISP pay for it, which in turn you pay part of. Does that make sense? *sigh* Shadow, what your saying is technicaly correct. But unless your ISP has a strict download limit, and unless they change
